I just saw The Dark Knight Rises and may I say that it is one of the greatest movies I’ve seen in quite a long time.
I’m going to give it a bit of a review but I’m not going to give anything away.
Firstly, every single actor was superb. There was not one weak link in the chain. They all created characters that were so believable that at one point I leaned over to my sister and asked her what she would do if this happened to us. She replied with “One, it would never happen. And two, that means the actors are doing their job”. Anne Hathaway, I bow down to you. I’ve never seen her play this type of mischievous and physical character. She just blew me away. As did Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He was also extremely committed to his role of a fiery police officer with a passion for justice. The actor who played the villan named Bane is an actor who I’ve never heard of but he was incredible. If you’ve seen any of the movie posters or trailers, you would have seen that Bane wears a mask that covers most of his face except for his eyes and forehead. The amount of emotion he, Tom Hardy, could convey with just the use of a small potion of his face is beyond commendable. Of course the veterans of the Batman trilogy (Christian Bale, Michael Cane, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman) were outstanding but the new comers gave them a run for their money.
The directing was just out of this world. Christopher Nolan has definitely outdone himself with this one. It’s certainly the best film I’ve even seen of his. The amount of skill that shines through in this film… I can’t even describe it. I get a headache just thinking about the vast (for the lack of a better descriptive word) amount of planning that would have had to have gone into it. The filming schedule would have been a nightmare not to mention stunts, special effects and all that jazz. I’m just blown away.
The Dark Knight Rises is the best movie I’ve seen this year. SLIGHT SPOILER COMING UP! I really do hope they grasp onto that new character’s story and continue to make more films (those who have seen it will know who I’m talking about). They really have got a good thing going here. I couldn’t recommend seeing this movie any higher. You will not regret it.
